The classes have been super helpful. Our instructor Samantha is super great and she’s absolutely an amazing person to work with! Her quirky and interesting personality sets the atmosphere with such fun vibes, it makes you want to stick around to learn more.

Every lesson is engaging and I am constantly learning something valuable each time. It’s challenging stuff to learn, yet rewarding.

It’s fun and I always look forward to the next lessons after. If I had more free time during my busy work schedule, I would have loved to do more than just one class per week!

Luckily in my spare time, her “Killing it with Kana” workbook has prove to be extremely
helpful in every engaging way possible. It makes you learn the Hiragana and Katakana characters in a creative way where it’s easy for anyone to understand.

Compared to other common learning kana techniques, “Killing it With Kana” stands out from the rest due to its own unique and respected way of teaching kana. It’s visually helpful and it properly explains why you learn the way it is. For all that to work, this is all thanks to Samantha for providing a book that’s structured beautifully in order for it to bring a captivating learning experience!

That being said, this whole journey has a phrase that can easily be described as “progress and fulfillment”

“ありがとございますサマンサせんせい!”

So grateful for Sam and her heart to teach Japanese! She is so encouraging and accommodating. My son started classes online but with a busy new school schedule he was unable to continue for awhile. Now that his schedule has changed I was so excited for him to continue and even participate in the in-person classes at my local library. He takes a Japanese class at school but learns way more with Sam than he does in class. 10/10 recommend!

I spent time last night and this morning going through the ebooks and they are really good.

I think the pictures and kanji for the toilet, air con etc will be really useful to look at if readers are not sure what the kanji are.

The cheat sheet is also a good idea for those just starting out in Japanese or not confident using it.

I’ve been talking with Elena about her work in Japanese class. She feels she’s learning and doing well, and that she’s made much progress in her time with you — thank you so much!

Victoria absolutely loves class! Everytime afterward she gets so excited to tell me about the new words that she learned so we are very excited to start 3 times a week in January!

We love having it online, it saves so much time for me.

Koichi has really been learning a lot, I appreciate doing the tutoring in between classes to help him get it in.

One thing that he has really enjoyed is the game Sensei is silly. He also loved the immersion style during tutoring and would love to see it in classes.

Thank you for being an awesome Sensei!

Sam offers a fun, effective, remote learning experience that my 3rd and 6th grader learned so much from. She has a kind and engaging manner and the whole lesson is entirely in Japanese. Within 2 weeks my sons were speaking simple sentences and had learned enough to pick out words from anime shows (which really boosted their motivation!).

Whitney is happy her son continues learning Japanese with enthusiasm.

[My son] is in his second year of Japanese class at his high school! Thank you so much for giving him a start that made him want to continue learning Japanese!

My son recently told me that at first he wasn’t sure about the class, but now he really understands why you’re presenting the material the way you do, so you’re doing great! He has learned so much in your class and loves reading Japanese characters out to us when we come across them as well as recognizing Japanese words when we are watching movies or overhear people speaking Japanese.

I had the pleasure of taking part in Japanese language learning discussions led by Samantha. Samantha was very welcoming of everyone in the group and had a strict attention to detail that could make a newcomer instantly feel as though they had been in the group for months. Between organizing snacks, tea, discussion points, and keeping the members engaged, Samantha went above and beyond. Although she often kick-started discussions, she knew when to simply let her group continue the discussions freely, so that the meetings always felt like natural conversations. Of course, there was a very wide variety of levels of proficiency in the group. Some, like myself, came in with little to no conversational Japanese knowledge. Samantha took notice whenever someone was quiet for long periods of time and took it upon herself to nudge them into participating more. It is because of this that the group outgrew our room within only a few months. Between Samantha’s knowledge of Japanese language, her attention of detail, and her kindness, Samantha is able to seamlessly turn a group into a lively exchange where everyone can participate regardless of their level. It was my pleasure working and meeting with Samantha, and I can only hope other people are fortunate enough to do the same.
